Growing up, my mother always told me I had a knack for writing, so naturally, I refused to go into journalism out of spite. Despite completing my freshman year of college at Arizona State University studying painting and drawing, it never felt like the right path for the future. The three-day drive home for holidays might have also had something to do with it. So I packed my things, returned to Indiana, transferred to Ball State University, and began anew at the College of Communication, Information and Media.
Using journalism and different forms of media has opened up a whole new world of ways to interact with the community of Muncie and beyond. I now feel that it is my duty as a journalist to help the people around me while making the world a more vibrant and meaningful place.
